The Alabama Futures Fund is a $25 million seed-stage venture capital fund focused on supporting and growing entrepreneurial activity and economic development in Alabama. The Fund seeks to be the first significant investment in an early-stage venture that can reach attainable milestones leading to Series A financing within 12–24 months, targeting companies at the minimum viable product, pre-revenue, and early revenue stages across a broad range of industries that exhibit the potential for high growth. AFF's sweet spot is companies with adaptable and coachable founding teams who have identified a significant customer problem and are working toward product-market fit. Because of the risks involved in investing this early, the Fund prefers to stage capital relative to milestones achieved and reserves significant capital for follow-on investments in its most promising companies. All portfolio companies must be headquartered in — or willing to relocate to — Alabama.
