Alliance of Angels

Alliance of Angels is the largest and most active angel group in the Pacific Northwest, comprising 180+ accredited investor members committed to financing and supporting high-growth startups in technology, hardware, consumer, and the life sciences. Founded in 1997 and based in Seattle, AoA seeks extraordinary founders with product vision, a laser focus on execution, and unlimited ambition who want to build high-growth companies. The group invests $4–10M+ annually into 15–20 companies per year, focusing on seed and early-stage rounds of $500K–$2.5M, and actively syndicates alongside other angel groups, individual angels, and venture funds. While AoA has a preference for Pacific Northwest companies (~70% of investments), it considers strong opportunities across the US and Canada and is sector-agnostic, with the majority of investments in SaaS, AI, and life sciences. The AoA Innovation Fund, raised annually from members, invests in 12–15 companies per fund with no carry and minimal fees, providing diversified early-stage exposure through a member-led, one-vote-per-member governance model.
