Fannin Innovation Studio is an early-stage life sciences development group focused exclusively on commercializing biotech and medtech technologies from academic institutions, particularly the Texas Medical Center. The firm operates as a venture studio that serves as both the management team and early investor, collaborating with academic inventors to advance therapeutic and medical device technologies through preclinical and clinical development. Fannin's hybrid approach addresses the biotech development gap in Houston by providing seed capital, shared management, central office space, and a vast network of resources to co-found and actively manage startup companies. The firm in-licenses promising early-stage therapeutic and medical device technologies from leading academic investigators, develops them internally through clinical proof of concept, and leverages grant funding when appropriate.
