Foundamental is the global vertical technology investor for the 'project economy' — the CapEx-heavy sectors that rebuild the world: architecture, engineering & construction (AEC), infrastructure, renovation, 2D/3D and computer-aided design, heavy industry supply chains, and lot-size-1 manufacturing (shipbuilding, aerospace). Founded in January 2019 with $60M in commitments and grown to over $300M across three funds, the firm leads pre-seed, seed, and Series A rounds with first cheques of $500K–$5M, reserving more than 50% of each fund for follow-ons. Foundamental searches for 'vertical singularities' — category-creating companies that are initially invisible to generalist investors — across more than 22 countries spanning the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Africa, leveraging deeply embedded local teams and global cross-border knowledge transfer as its core competitive advantage.
