Global Founders Capital (GFC) is the global venture capital platform of Rocket Internet, founded in 2013 by Oliver Samwer. GFC invests early and across sectors — from pre-seed through IPO — with no geographic or thematic restrictions, backing exceptional founders from day one. The firm describes itself as 'borderless' and 'global from day zero,' with offices across 16 cities worldwide, and is particularly experienced in helping founders scale simultaneously across multiple continents rather than sequentially market by market. Following the full deployment of its two ~$1B funds, GFC restructured in April 2024 to deploy capital exclusively from Rocket Internet's €300M balance sheet, focusing primarily on early-stage investments (pre-seed and seed) with the ability to follow on through later rounds. The firm is sector-agnostic in practice, with deep portfolio concentration in fintech, e-commerce & marketplaces, enterprise software, consumer apps, and logistics.
