Founded in 2013, Miami Angels is one of Florida's largest, longest-running, and most active angel networks. The organization is industry agnostic, focusing primarily on post-product, post-revenue, early-stage technology companies. Miami Angels invests in underinvested markets, particularly Florida, and has joined with New World Angels to give investors and founders access to a broader statewide network, deeper expertise, and stronger support for Florida's startup ecosystem. The network looks for high-impact entrepreneurs with early indicators of product-market fit, and has a strong preference for Florida-based companies.
Notable quotes
“We invested because we saw organic growth which signified to us they had built a product that answered a need in the market. And most importantly, we identified Gustavo and his team as scrappy, innovative, and hard working.”
“We've seen record growth at Miami Angels in 2021. The Miami Angels had its biggest exit to date by far with the $650 million exit of the homegrown edtech startup Nearpod. The return to Miami Angels investors was 14X, so needless to say there were a lot of happy people.”
“The best investor groups succeed because they have deep networks of experienced investors concentrated in one ecosystem. The integration of Miami Angels and New World will connect every major innovation corridor in Florida under one roof. Together with New World we're combining our efforts to match the growing scale of Florida's startup ecosystem.”
