Newcastle Angel Hub (now operating as the Northern Investor Hub) is a facilitated angel investor network delivered by the Innovation SuperNetwork, a non-profit organisation. It does not invest its own funds; instead, it curates qualified deal flow from North East-based innovative businesses and connects them with a community of individual angel investors, VCs, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. The Hub aims to promote and grow the angel investment community in the North East, supporting local start-ups and scale-ups by increasing access to risk capital. Members receive handpicked deal opportunities aligned to their investment thesis, introductions to founders and co-investors, and access to pitch events. Many deals are structured to leverage matched grant funding through Innovate UK programmes, de-risking early-stage investment. Since 2019, the Hub has built an investor community of more than 200 angels and funds and helped leverage over £40m of investment for businesses across the North.
