Oxford Capital invests in ambitious founding teams across the UK that possess an 'unfair advantage' and demonstrate the characteristics necessary to execute on it — from the first proof of real-world traction through to rapid scale. The firm believes that 'if founders win, we win,' and operates two complementary vehicles: Backing Founders (pre-seed to Series A), targeting early-stage UK technology startups with clear product-market fit and disruptive 10x value propositions; and Backing Growth, which provides follow-on and co-investment capital to later-stage science and technology scale-ups. Oxford Capital invests only in companies with whom it has an existing relationship — either directly, through its Backing Founders fund, or indirectly through partner early-stage VC funds — and typically takes board seats to help portfolio companies shape strategy, attract talent, and connect with customers and partners.
