Bloomberg Beta is an early-stage venture capital firm backed solely by Bloomberg L.P., investing out of a $75M seed fund focused broadly on the future of work. The fund exists to expand Bloomberg's horizons by backing extraordinary founders creating profound change in the way business operates — with a particular emphasis on machine intelligence and AI. Bloomberg Beta believes work must be more productive, fulfilling, inclusive, and available to as many people as possible, and that technology startups play an essential role in delivering that future. The firm operates with radical transparency — its entire operating manual is open-sourced on GitHub — and uses an unconventional flat decision-making model where any partner can independently say 'yes' to a deal. Bloomberg Beta invests for financial return, not strategic synergy, choosing companies solely on their merits. It focuses on 'hot-swap' startups that directly replace incumbents in large traditional industries (logistics, insurance, healthcare, construction, education) using technology, as well as companies building the infrastructure of AI and the modern enterprise. The firm now manages $450M across five $75M seed funds and a $75M opportunity fund for follow-on investments.
