Copper Wire Ventures

Copper Wire Ventures is a mission-driven microfund founded on the conviction that women entrepreneurs deserve equal access to venture capital and strategic support. With only 2.7% of all venture funding going to women founders in 2019 (and that number decreasing in 2020), the fund was created to drive more investment into women-led businesses through direct early-stage investments — often as the first money in — in companies pioneering the future of learning and work. Backed by a family office, Copper Wire Ventures focuses on edtech and future-of-work companies led by female founders, writing $100K–$500K checks at the pre-seed and seed stages. The fund actively cultivates co-investments by similarly mission-driven venture capital firms and provides board-level mentorship and access to a 9,000+ member NYEdTech Meetup community, giving portfolio companies direct access to educators, buyers, and co-investors beyond just capital.
