Finance Yorkshire

Finance Yorkshire provides seedcorn, loan, and equity-linked investments specifically to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Yorkshire and Humber meet gaps in the market for funding they need for growth and development, where conventional sources of finance are insufficient or unavailable. The fund — capitalised originally through the EU JEREMIE initiative and now from combined legacies of its predecessor funds — is structured to back businesses through critical stages of growth via three products: Seedcorn equity (targeting new or pre-revenue technology and knowledge-based companies developing innovative or disruptive technologies), Growth Fund equity and loans (for SMEs seeking transformational development, capital expenditure, or new market penetration), and Business Loans (micro and larger). The current fund targets investing more than £50m over five years across Yorkshire and Humber, complementing other regional finance providers such as the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.
