Founder Collective's mission is to be 'the most aligned VC fund for founders at the seed stage.' The firm intentionally keeps fund sizes below $100M to avoid the 'billions or bust' mentality of larger VCs, ensuring it can support exits of all sizes and dilute alongside founders over time. FC is stage-focused (pre-seed and seed), sector-agnostic, and 'proudly anti-thematic,' backing bold ideas across everything from AI to consumer goods based on founder conviction rather than hot themes. The firm's ethos centers on six pillars: founder alignment, early conviction, intrinsic value (obsessing over real use cases over hype), capital efficiency ('every dollar spent unwisely is a dollar of dilution'), a preference for weird and wonderful non-obvious ideas, and collective support — building a community of hundreds of portfolio founders who learn from each other. All full-time partners were successful founders before becoming investors.
