Helvetia Venture Fund invests in early-stage startups with the potential to shape the future of insurance. These can be InsurTech startups, but also startups using technologies and business models that can be applied to the insurance business — spanning fintech, proptech, mobility, and IoT. Run by former entrepreneurs, the fund takes a very hands-on approach and places strong emphasis on the relationship with founders. Though operational cooperation with Helvetia's business units is not a requirement, the fund actively encourages portfolio companies to leverage the resources of its backer, Helvetia Insurance. The fund focuses on startups from throughout Europe, with particular emphasis on the countries in which Helvetia operates: Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and Spain. With a total volume of approximately CHF 55 million, it targets roughly 25 companies and is managed in partnership with b2venture (formerly btov Partners), benefiting from their deal flow and startup ecosystem experience.
