SIS Ventures

SIS Ventures is an FCA-regulated, Edinburgh-based impact venture capital firm and wholly-owned subsidiary of Social Investment Scotland (SIS), founded in 2018. It seeks to provide mission-aligned equity investment to innovative, early-stage Scottish companies with global ambitions, targeting businesses that are purpose-led and address society's greatest social and environmental challenges — where impact and commercial growth are intrinsically linked. Through its proprietary impact management framework (as Scotland's first signatory to the Operating Principles for Impact Management), SIS Ventures pursues a dual-return strategy: delivering conventional financial returns alongside measurable social and/or environmental returns. In return for investment, the firm requires a 'mission lock' — embedding the company's social or environmental mission into its Articles of Association — and actively supports portfolio companies in tracking impact metrics alongside traditional business performance indicators. Sectors of focus include life sciences, healthtech, agtech, clean tech, and circular economy.
