Two Sigma Ventures was founded in 2012 with the conviction that the most consequential companies would be built by applying data science and advances in computing to upend industries or create entirely new ones. The firm backed early-stage companies — from seed through Series B — that harness the accelerating forces of data and computing to unlock novel experiences, insights, and discoveries across AI/ML, advanced software infrastructure, fintech, healthtech, and hard tech at the intersection of climate, manufacturing, and life sciences. In addition to capital, portfolio companies gained access to Two Sigma's broader network of over 1,600 employees and 200+ PhDs who could work directly on machine learning and data pipeline challenges. The venture business has since spun out as the independent firm Deviation Capital, carrying forward the same thesis with $2B AUM.
